Research design and conduct
- Under faculty mentorship, design and perform experiments in informatics areas of study
Data analysis and record keeping
- Perform complex data analysis, normalization and interpretation on experimental/performance results generated using functional informatics and relevant techniques/protocols.
- Use computer software to input and manage data for future analysis.

- Under the mentorship of faculty in DICE and the Casey Eye Institute, design and perform quantitative and qualitative research studies related to early detection and intervention for eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration in primary care settings.
- Conduct data analysis by working with internal and external evaluation, informatics, and healthcare teams.
Dissemination in collaboration with team members
- Processing and analyzing CRISPR screening data, including data curation, normalization, quality control, hit identification, and downstream statistical analysis using Python, R, and other relevant software tools.
- Integrating CRISPR perturbation data with transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and other omics datasets to identify metabolic pathway alterations, gene dependencies, and functional mechanisms.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of robust computational pipelines, algorithms, and reproducible workflows for analyzing CRISPR-based functional genomics data and metabolic phenotypes.

The candidate will design and execute independent, hands-on experiments; maintain rigorous laboratory documentation; collect, organize, analyze, and interpret complex datasets; and prepare manuscripts for publication. Additional responsibilities include presenting findings at seminars and scientific conferences, developing experimental protocols, contributing to grant applications and progress reports, and preparing technical reports. The position also involves training and mentoring junior personnel. The role requires scientific independence, strong analytical skills, flexibility, and demonstrated expertise in developmental and stem cell biology.

The Momeni laboratory at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to investigate novel bacterial metabolites related to Type VII Secretions systems. This position will support an NIH/NIDCR R56 project will expand our current oral bacterial metabolomics library and with further investigate which bacterial metabolites impact the Type VII secretion systems in various Streptococcal species.
This position is full-time postdoctoral level (PhD in neuroscience or biophysics) in the von Gersdorff lab in the Vollum Institute.
