A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian J. O'Roak in the Department of Molecular & Medical Genetics (MMG) at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The O'Roak Lab investigates how mutations in key autism risk genes, particularly transcription factors, disrupt neurodevelopmental processes.
The position offers the opportunity to apply cutting-edge developmental neuroscience, genomic, and physiological approaches to understand how these mutations alter molecular, cellular, synaptic, and circuit-level functions. Candidates may employ human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell-derived neural models, in vivo rodent models, or integrative approaches spanning both systems.
Computer & laboratory bench work. Work with human cell lines. Work flexibility depending on experiment requirements.
