The Wolf lab within the department of Behavioral Neuroscience is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar. This is a full-time program of advanced academic preparation and research training on NIH-funded projects under the guidance of faculty mentor and senior laboratory personnel. The overarching goal of the lab is to use rodent models of addiction to understand why drug craving persists even after long periods of abstinence. Techniques used in our studies include intravenous drug self-administration, electrophysiology (whole cell patch clamp), fiber photometry, chemogenetics, and various other cellular/molecular approaches.
Planning and designing research experiments; establishing priorities and schedules; obtaining cost estimates.
Data collection, processing and analysis, including statistical analyses, presentation of project results, and producing written documents (abstracts, manuscripts) on the result of analyses. Includes contributing to preparation of grant proposals to NIH and private foundations.
Training new staff, graduate students, and student volunteers
PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology or related field
5 years of experience in neuroscience wet lab techniques including rodent use
Experimental design, statistical analyses, rodent handling and surgery; ability to troubleshoot and work independently once trained
Experience with intravenous drug self-administration, fiber photometry, or other techniques listed in the position overview
