Department Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team and help move our science forward. The Moran Lab studies how sex hormones shape immune responses in health and disease. We aim to better understand the underlying mechanisms of why immune responses differ based on the hormone microenvironment. Our research focuses on T cell biology and immune responses using models of infection, autoimmunity, and cancer. We are a translational research laboratory partnering with clinicians to access patient tissues to inform our basic biology studies and to in turn, inform novel investigator initiated trials. We utilize cutting-edge techniques, complex reporter mouse models and diverse molecular- and cell biology techniques focused on hormone receptor biology and immune modulation.

The ideal candidate for this position will be interactive, but capable of working independently. They will have a strong and demonstrated interest in the one of two areas: 1) immunology and/or tumor microenvironment or 2) hormone receptor biology; as well as experience with cell biology, transcriptomic and epigenetic techniques. Specific projects will be determined by the applicant’s skill set and articulated research interests. Experience in hormone receptor biology and/or immunology and mouse models are a requisite.

The ideal candidate should have no more than 2 years of postdoctoral experience (if greater than this, please describe), and will be expected to compete for internal and external funding, present their work internally and externally, support manuscript reviews and trainee mentorship, and write scientific papers. Highly motivated candidates should upload a cover letter describing your relevant qualifications, future interests, and expected start date; CV; and names and contact information for three references.
